Walls Construction | Urban Solutions + MCA Architects
The transformation of the Irish Life HQ Campus on Abbey Street, Dublin, is a striking example of how an established city-centre asset can be reinvented for a new generation.
Irish Life’s decision to invest in and revitalise its existing campus rather than relocate has delivered a landmark development that strengthens the Irish Life Centre and contributes to the wider regeneration of Abbey Street.
Led by Walls Construction, in collaboration with MCA Architects and Urban Solutions, the redevelopment of Blocks 3A and 3B combines sophisticated refurbishment, new interventions and a major energy retrofit. At its centre, a dramatic new atrium and staircase unite the two buildings, transforming circulation while creating a powerful new architectural focal point.
The 220,000 sq ft development also introduces exceptional new amenities, including a renewed Secret Garden, rooftop gardens and terraces creating a workplace where architecture, landscape and wellbeing are seamlessly integrated.
With more than 26,000m² of workspace for approximately 3,000 Irish Life employees, the project delivers a contemporary and sustainable workplace while respecting the heritage and character of one of Dublin’s established landmarks.
Delivered on time and on budget within a complex live-campus environment, its success reflects the expertise, collaboration and determination of an exceptional project team.
Irish Life Block 3 is more than a refurbishment — it is a confident reinvention of a landmark workplace, setting a new benchmark for sustainable urban renewal and construction excellence in Dublin.
