QUEEN STREET STUDENT ACCOMMODATION – Galway

Monami Construction + Coady Architects

Monami Construction, in partnership with Coady Architects, is leading the delivery of a landmark eight-storey purpose-built student accommodation development on Queen Street in the dynamic centre of Galway.

The development will provide 345 purpose-designed student beds across eight floors complemented by an extensive range of premium amenities. These include dedicated study areas, a fully equipped gym, secure bicycle storage, a cinema room, rooftop terrace and a 24-hour reception. Ideally located near Galway’s bus and rail stations and just a 15-minute walk from University of Galway.

This scheme marks a significant expansion of Galway’s student accommodation offering, directly addressing the growing demand for high-quality, purpose-built housing within the city.

Queen Street Place has been carefully designed to create an exceptional living environment, blending convenience, comfort and wellbeing through a thoughtfully curated suite of on-site facilities.

Positioned close to the city’s docklands, the development will play a key role in meeting the need for modern, specialist student accommodation in the region. During term time, it will operate as essential student housing, while in the summer months it will transition to premium short-term accommodation for visitors to Galway.

The project is supported by alternative investment specialists Elkstone and Harrison Street, a global real assets investment management firm.

Designed around the principles of comfort, connectivity and community, the contemporary 345-bed residence will operate exclusively as self-catering accommodation from June to August each year. Its central location, modern architectural design and high-specification amenities make it an ideal choice for travellers, groups and students seeking quality summer accommodation in Galway.

Situated in the heart of the city on Queen Street, the residence is within walking distance of the bustling docklands, Eyre Square, Galway Railway Station and a range of popular attractions including Dead Mans Beach, Spanish Arch, Galway City Museum and Lynch’s Castle. The property is also conveniently located near Atlantic Technological University, further enhancing its appeal for academic visitors and summer school participants.

Built to the highest ESG standards and designed with a strong focus on sustainability, health and wellbeing, the eight-storey development will provide a high-quality home for 345 students during the academic year from 2026 onwards.
